1. General Provisions

This Privacy Policy explains how Hokku ("we", "our", "Service") collects, uses, and protects information when using our web application to create short videos from long videos and publish them to social media.

2. Data We Collect: Email OnlyMinimal Data

We collect strictly the minimum amount of information necessary for the functioning of the Service:
WE COLLECT ONLY YOUR EMAIL FOR AUTHENTICATION AND NOTHING MORE:
When registering and logging into an account, you provide only your email address and password. We do not ask for your real name, surname, date of birth, phone number, mailing address, location, or contact book.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect personal demographic data (full name, gender, passport data);
  • We do not track your physical location (geolocation);
  • We do not store bank card data (all financial transactions are handled directly by certified payment gateways);
  • We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties or advertising networks.

4. Purposes of Using Email Address

Your email is used exclusively for the following operational purposes:
  • Creating an account and authenticating when logging into the Service;
  • Access recovery and password reset;
  • Linking paid subscription status to your account;
  • Sending critical security notices and video processing status updates.

5. Video Media Processing

Long videos uploaded by you and generated short clips are processed exclusively by automated algorithms to fulfill your instructions: clipping fragments, auto-generating subtitles, and framing/cropping.
We do not use your private video recordings to train public AI models without your explicit permission. All temporary files are deleted upon completion of the processing cycle according to our storage cleanup policy.

6. Social Media Integration

When connecting YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok accounts, the service saves only the necessary OAuth access tokens intended exclusively for publishing clips selected by you. We do not read your direct messages and do not collect your friends or followers lists.

7. Data Protection & Right to Deletion

We apply modern data encryption standards (HTTPS/TLS) and password hashing for reliable account security.
You have the full right to request deletion of your account at any time. When an account is deleted, your email address and all associated sessions are permanently erased from our active databases.

8. Cookies & Local Storage

We use strictly necessary session cookies to maintain your login in the system and save interface preferences (language selection and dark/light theme). We do not use third-party tracking cookies for behavioral advertising.
